We offer comprehensive psychiatric evaluations with a focus on diagnosis of symptoms and a determination of the need for medication, psychotherapy, or a combination of both.
Our treatment plans include laboratory evaluations and a review of treatment history and reactions to previous medication. In addition, we obtain family history, social history and look at current stressors that may exacerbate psychiatric problems. In certain cases we will also provide genetic testing for liver enzyme metabolism to help determine the most appropriate medication regimen with minimization of potential side effect concerns.
We are an outpatient based practice and do not provide inpatient service to psychiatric hospitals. If hospitalization is required we can assist with appropriate referrals based on required treatment.
Anxiety, depression, and reactions to traumatic events are the most common problems treated with medication. Other conditions commonly treated include panic attacks, attention deficit disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, eating disorders and bipolar disorder.
Life transitions, anger and grief are the most common problems treated with counseling and based on the issues, we have appropriate referral sources.
